INDIA AS BHARATH
Bharath Sadhana Samiti was started by RajjGuru, the National President, along with other nationalists of Bharath, with the motive of changing the country’s name from India to Bharath.
Bharath Sadhana Samiti began its movement in the year 2015 to accomplish this objective. In 2019, BSS filed a PIL in the Supreme Court of India seeking implementation of Article 1(1) of the Constitution, which states: “India, that is Bharat, shall be a Union of States,” as specified in the First Schedule, including such other territories as may be acquired.
According to RajjGuru, we refer to our nation as Bharath Mata, and our highest civilian award is Bharat Ratna. We have institutions such as the Bharatiya Reserve Bank and Bharatiya Railways. Then why can’t we use Bharath instead of India on official documents like PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, and passports? He believes that the word India represents a cruel British colonial aura.

Aims and Objectives
- Promoting the Name ‘Bharath’ – Encouraging citizens to embrace and refer to our nation by its original and historic name, Bharath, reinforcing our identity and heritage.
Environmental Awareness – Spreading awareness about the importance of energy and water conservation, helping individuals and communities adopt sustainable practices.
Cultural & Heritage Promotion – Highlighting India’s rich culture, traditions, and heritage to instill pride and preserve our historical legacy.
Global Awareness Initiatives – Educating the public about significant events, practices, and trends happening worldwide to broaden perspectives and inspire positive action.
Swachh Bharat Advocacy – Supporting and promoting the Swachh Bharat mission by encouraging cleanliness, hygiene, and responsible civic behavior.
Through these initiatives, Bharat Sadana Samithi aims to create a more informed, responsible, and culturally rooted society, where every citizen contributes to the nation’s progress and pride.

Bharath Sadhana Samithi As of my last update in September 2025, there isn’t a prominent NGO solely focused on advocating for the change of India’s name to “Bharath.” The discussion around renaming the country is more often debated in cultural and nationalist circles rather than being spearheaded by a specific NGO or organization.
RAJJGURU ( PRESIDENT)
I’ve had the privilege of being associated with Bharath Sadhana Samithi for several years now, and I can confidently say that their commitment to social change is unparalleled. Through their healthcare initiatives, they’ve brought medical services to remote villages, reaching those who are often overlooked by mainstream healthcare systems.
GIRIJA SAMPATH GYAN (VICE PRESIDENT)
Joining Bharath Sadhana Samithi’s environmental conservation projects has been an eye-opening experience. Their emphasis on sustainability and eco-conscious living has not only benefited the environment but has also fostered a sense of community among volunteers.
